"His easy
manner with the audience combined with a magical skill second to none, is what
the audience remembers after the curtain goes
down..."
-- LAS
VEGAS ENTERTAINMENT TODAY
"The key to this
production is 'magico' Harry Maurer, a brash, youthful performer with a good
sense of humor who knows how to get around audiences."

VARIETY
“Ah, but then came the good stuff. . . We speak of
comedian-magician Harry Maurer, who bounded onstage at mid-show looking like a
Borscht Belt riverboat gambler. . . Maurer has won the “Atlantic City
Entertainer of the Year,” and it’s easy to see why. For our money, he provided
the best 20 minutes of casino amusement we’ve seen on the Coast. . . Maurer left
the stage, and we watched the rest of the show wind up -- And it was OK, but we
found ourselves hungry for more of Maurer’s magic. Because, despite a
Mick-Jagger president, a trembling Wall Street and a hurricane threat, when
Maurer had been on stage, we were certain the sun had broken through the clouds.
At least for a little while.”

“It can only be assumed Maurer has another 45 minutes or so of
illusions. If so, why in the world doesn't some casino give this guy his own
production show?”

"The costumes,

-- THE
BERMUDA SUN
"Maurer's big on
audience participation, and is one of those extremely competent comedians who
handles this exceptionally well. He'll do a guillotine joke here, a card trick
there, but always with a skill that gauges the temper of his audience from the
word go and works from there."
-- SUNDAY
STAR LEDGER
"What sets the
show apart is its individual components. The best of these is comic-magician
Harry Maurer who appears twice. Both times he uses audience members as stooges
and both times he conjures up illusions that range from entertaining to
astounding. Maurer, a most congenial fellow, saves his best for last. It's a
seemingly impossible bit of prestidigitation, involving an ostensibly destroyed
$100 bill, that ranks among the best we've seen on a Casino City
stage."

"Before you can
blink your eyes or take a deep breath magician-comedian Harry Maurer takes the
stage. Now I was sitting 10-15 feet from the stage and I have absolutely no idea
how this guy does these tricks, but I do know one thing, Maurer is good -- very
good! This just might be one of the best entertainment values anywhere in South
Jersey, not just Atlantic City!"

ATLANTIC CITY WHOOT
“But
comedian-magician Harry Maurer remains the reason to see “Christmas Time in
Dixie”. We saw the act during a prior review and, if possible, got more joy out
of it this time. Maurer is a quick-witted polished stage presence and, since his
act depends on an audience volunteer, just about anything could happen. But you
know you’re in sure hands as you watch him tease the tension perfectly from his
victim -- I mean, volunteer. His “human drum roll” is a hoot and a half and his
plea for his “first” standing ovation is a must-see. Hire a baby sitter and go
down to the New Palace to check out Harry.”

THE SUN HERALD
"...Back in the
day (the 1990s), when variety shows were a casino staple, comic-magician Harry
Maurer was one of the most dependable acts on the boards. No matter how
otherwise lame a show was, Maurer added sparkle.
It's been about
five years since he last was in town, but he's back through Sunday at the Comedy
Stop inside the Tropicana.
Tuesday evening,
Maurer, who is appearing with more traditional stand-ups Tina Giorgi and Steve
Shaffer, has lost none of his ability to perfectly blend goofy, gentle humor and
some neat magic tricks, including his always amazing bit in which he links three
wedding bands offered by men in the audience.
The only problem
with Maurer's turn is that it is much too brief. Nonetheless, its still worth
catching...

THE COURIER-POST
"Harry Maurer is
from the magician wing of the comedy school. He presents a highly evolved
audience participation act...an act that earned him the nomination of Atlantic
City's "Entertainer of the Year Award for Best Opening Act" ...and knows how to
play to a casino crowd with ease..."
