Maurer co-hosts "Women of Distinction Award" Gala
Benefiting the Chron's & Colitis Foundation
Houston, Texas, January 29, 2012 - Filling in for TV newscaster Dave Ward, Houston Magician Harry Maurer co-hosted KTRK Channel 13 "Women of Distinction Award" at The Winter Ball held at the Hilton-Americas in Downtown Houston.
Women of Distinction honorees include: Terry Brown, Diane Watson Cain, Robin Young Ellis, Kelli Cohen Fein, Susan Plank, Kathi Rovere, Millette Sherman, Y. Ping Sun, Mary Ann Reynolds Wilkins, Clarease Yates and 2012 Ambassador Betty Tutor.
The Winter Ball, in its 25th year, is one of the premier social events in Houston, and the largest fundraiser for the CCFA Houston Gulf Coast / South Texas Chapter. Sponsors include ABC-13, Saks Fifth Avenue, Mercedes-Benz Dealers of Greater Houston, CenterPoint Energy, Gittings, and Tiffany & Co.
The ball, chaired by Evelyn Leightman and Barbara Scott, with Honorary Chairs Donna and Tony Vallone, was held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at the Hilton-Americas Hotel Houston. All proceeds benefit research programs funded by CCFA to find a cure for debilitating digestive diseases.
Tickets for the 2012 Winter Ball began at $500 and tables started at $5,000 up to $50,000.
Over the years, the black-tie event has raised millions of dollars for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America and has honored more than 200 of the city's leading ladies.
